What is Flight Information Monitoring Channel (FIMC) about?

Flight Information Monitoring Channel (FIMC) is a channel for airing updated Flight Information for subscribers at specific destinations to be available for public usage. Like any other network channel, display screens are needed to view the requested information which could range from a 62’’ Plasma Screen (at open areas) to a 15’’ TFT.

Powered by Aviation Information Technology company (AVIT), Flight information Monitoring Channel enables passengers and any other interested party to have continuous updated information about flight status for all airlines landing and taking off from the airport presenting the exact arrival or departure of these flights as well as any delays that occur at Cairo, Hurgada or Sharm el Sheikh airports. The requested information is extracted from the Airport Operational Data Base (AODB) and displayed in an attractive design and layout on Plasma or any other display screens at target locations, where it could be made available for all passengers, or other parties who would be interested in monitoring flights’ arrivals and departures “To” and “From” the above mentioned destinations.

Flight Information Monitoring Channel is characterized by the continuity of display for the Updated Flight Information with the attractive presentation for this information. Another feature for this channel is the immediate update of information since the complete flight information is displayed on the plasma screen as soon as it is updated in the database. After every change from arrival to departure flights (or vice versa), automatic refreshment will be triggered.

Flight Information Monitoring Channel is specially designed to serve the needs of the following parties:

  • Tourism Companies and Tour Leaders waiting for the arrival of their guests or arranging for their check-out from the Hotel to the Airport.
  • Hotels themselves could make the best use of the FIMC in making the necessary arrangements for the arriving guests and making the best utilization of the rooms' capacity through tracing the different flights information.
Service Description:

Our solution serves Hotel Guests by displaying daily actual movements of arrival and departure flights within six hours duration (one previous hour and five coming hours from current time). This duration can be extended to eighteen hours (six previous hours and twelve coming hours). Requested Flight information is displayed using special monitors like Plasma screens, LCDs or both.

On the same screen (monitor), the system will display all arrival flights followed by all departure flights. Flights will be scrolled automatically every 10 seconds (this duration can be specified according to user needs). After every change from arrival to departure flights (or vice versa), automatic refreshment will be triggered.


The Flight Information displayed will be as follows:

  • Airline Name
  • Flight Number
  • Flight Date
  • Schedule Time
  • Estimated Time
  • Actual Time
  • From (origin) to (destination)
  • VIA
  • Terminal Number (In case of Cairo International Airport)
  • Hall Number
  • Status (On Time/ Arrived/ Departed/ Delayed/ Cancelled/ No Passengers)

Where could Flight Information Monitoring Channel be implemented/ installed?

Flight Information Monitoring could be connected to Hotels, Handling Agents and Tourism Companies. More than one model could be implemented at the Hotel including but not limited to the following:

  • Installing the Service on one Plasma at the Hotel Entrance Hall or Lobby.
  • Installing more than one Display Screen (Plasma) at the Hotel Reception and/or outdoor at any other chosen location(s) like Business Lounges and Cafés.
  • Display Screens could be installed in the Floor Halls of the Hotel.
  • Possibility of expanding the service inside the Hotel to be available for guests in their own rooms on PCs or making it available through the Hotel TV Channel.
